Wine Country Star Gazing is amateur astronomer and telescope builder Michael McKeown.  A docent for astronomy at Mt. Diablo state park, Michael is often seen at evening events around the northbay sharing his telescope with the public. Michael supports the local college's astronomy program 3-4 times a year by joining a number of other local amateur astronomers at Skyline Park.  

Michael's background is in engineering, and he designed and built the large telescope he calls Cyclops. Michael says: "I want to give the public the best view I can afford".

As an entertainer with a natural world focus, Michael can speak on many different subjects including philosophy (the study of how we observe), ancient mysteries, alien presence in the inner solar system, cutting edge physics developments, and of course widely on astronomy and telescope building.
